PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has foiled a suspected terrorism plot after arresting a female suicide bomber during an operation in Dera Ismail Khan.
According to CTD officials, the suspect was apprehended from the Sheikh Yousaf tent settlement area of DI Khan. Authorities said the woman allegedly hails from Waziristan and was operating as a close aide to militant commander Shah Wali, also known as Tariq Kochi, associated with the banned group referred to by officials as Fitna al Khawarij.
Investigators said the arrested woman confessed during initial questioning that she had received training from Tariq Kochi. She further revealed that the materials for the suicide attack, along with the intended target, were to be provided by another militant commander identified as Asim.
The CTD reported that a 30-bore pistol, ammunition, mobile phones, a tablet, and equipment believed to be intended for use in the planned attack were recovered from the suspect’s possession.
Officials added that a preliminary forensic review of the seized mobile phones indicated contact with the banned Tehreek and evidence suggesting her willingness to carry out a suicide attack. Authorities said further investigation was underway.
