SIALKOT (Dunay News) - A tragic incident occurred in Sialkot where an eighth-grade student lost her life after a shed of under-construction classrooms at a Government Girls High School collapsed, burying her under the debris.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took immediate notice of the incident. Following her directions,

Provincial Education Minister Sikandar Hayat visited the school and offered condolences to the bereaved family.

Reports indicate that rescue services were not informed for nearly an hour after the collapse, and the injured student was not shifted to the hospital in time.

After the incident, the Chief Executive Officer (Education), the school principal and the contractor were arrested.

A case has been registered on the complaint of the state, and three engineers have also been nominated in the FIR.
