LAHORE (Dunya News) – The secretary of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Rana Mujahid, has resigned from his position, with his resignation formally accepted.
The development comes after serious questions were raised over administrative affairs within the federation and the matter drew attention at the government level.
Sources said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had taken notice of the situation following reports of mismanagement. Earlier, PHF President Tariq Bugti had also stepped down from his position.
Speaking to media previously, Bugti said he had submitted his resignation to the prime minister and requested a transparent investigation to determine the facts.
The controversy intensified after revelations that the national hockey team was provided substandard accommodation during its tour of Australia, despite the government providing a grant of Rs250 million to the federation.
Reports suggested players were accommodated in a regular house instead of a five-star hotel, triggering widespread criticism.
