PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi denies taking over PHF, pledges support to national hockey team

Updated on:

Mohsin Naqvi clarified he will not assume Pakistan Hockey Federation presidency but will continue assisting the national team until resolution of administrative crisis, officials said.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has dismissed reports claiming he would take over the presidency of the Pakistan Hockey Federation.

Naqvi met with national hockey team players in Lahore, assuring them of continued support until the resolution of ongoing issues.

Later, he took to the social media platform X to clarify the rumours. “I am not becoming the president of PHF, but I will continue supporting the players until the crisis is resolved,” he said.

The clarification comes after PHF President Tariq Bugti resigned, and team captain Imad Butt received a two-year ban, barring him from domestic and international hockey competitions.
