LAHORE (APP) - Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Kareem has taken strict notice of an incident in Kahna, where a citizen was allegedly tied in chains by the in-charge of Lakhoki Police Post.
A spokesperson for Punjab Police said that following the IGP’s directives, ASP Operations Kahna Agha Faseeh Rehman has been transferred and directed to report to the Central Police Office.
The IGP also ordered the suspension of SHO Kahna Asad Abbas. Furthermore, an FIR has been registered at Kahna Police Station against Lakhoki Police Post In-Charge Adnan Virk and clerk Muhammad Azhar, the spokesperson added.
IGP Abdul Kareem emphasised that any misconduct towards citizens or abuse of authority will not be tolerated, and a strict zero-tolerance policy will be enforced against such actions.
