Malala Yousafzai urges countries to cut ties with Taliban

Malala condemned the Taliban’s ban on girls’ education as contrary to the teachings of Islam.

LONDON (Dunya News) - Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai has called on countries worldwide to pressure the Taliban and refrain from maintaining normal diplomatic relations with them.

In an exclusive interview with a private TV channel, Malala described the current situation in Afghanistan as extremely dangerous, particularly regarding girls’ education. She said the Taliban are systematically depriving girls and women of their basic rights.

“Taliban are denying girls their fundamental right to education. Schools are closed for girls, but Afghan girls have not given up. They continue to pursue education through secret schools and online learning,” she said. She added that Taliban restrictions prevent women from leaving their homes or working, casting a dark shadow over the future of Afghan children.

Malala condemned the Taliban’s ban on girls’ education as contrary to the teachings of Islam. “No girl should be denied education in the name of religion. Learning is part of the faith, and the Taliban need to understand their religion correctly,” she said.

She urged all countries, including Pakistan and other Muslim nations, to act on the basis of human rights and publicly condemn the Taliban’s un-Islamic actions.

Malala also reaffirmed her support for Afghan girls, saying she stands with them and continues to back educational projects for their benefit.
