(Web Desk) - Since its announcement in 2023, Lahore 1947 has been an intriguing, highly anticipated film.
The film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and is produced by Aamir Khan. It also stars Sunny Deol in the lead role.
This movie marks the first professional collaboration between Sunny and Aamir.
The pair were scheduled to star together in Yash Chopra’s Darr (1993), but things did not materialise, and Shah Rukh Khan replaced Aamir in that film.

Lahore 1947 is a period film which also features Preity G. Zinta, Shabana Azmi, and Karan Deol, among others.
However, despite the movie being such a curious project, little clarity was given regarding its release.
The film was originally scheduled to be released in January 2025.
However, director Rajkumar Santoshi later confirmed his plans to release the film towards the end of that year, which also did not happen.
Via their social media handles, Aamir Khan Productions officially confirmed the release date of the film.
In a statement issued on February 9, 2026, the banner said: “Aamir Khan Productions sets August 13, 2026, during the Independence Day week, as the theatrical release date for their upcoming period drama, Lahore 1947.
“The film brings together Sunny Deol, director Rajkumar Santoshi and producer Aamir Khan for the first time.
“Starring Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Preity G. Zinta, Abhimanyu Singh, Karan Deol and Ali Fazal, the film features music by AR Rahman, lyrics by Javed Akhtar, and dialogues by Rajkumar Santoshi and Asghar Wajahat.
