Kashmir Solidarity Day: Pakistan armed forces express solidarity with Kashmiri people

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed on February 5, the Pakistan Armed Forces have expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu reaffirmed their support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.

The armed forces strongly condemned the grave human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir, declaring extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and arbitrary detentions as blatant violations of international law, ISPR stated.

According to the ISPR statement, a resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions is essential. A just settlement of the Kashmir issue is necessary for lasting peace in South Asia, and the international community should take practical steps to assist the Kashmiri people.

The statement further said that the Pakistan Armed Forces are fully prepared to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and reiterated their unwavering solidarity with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
