LAKKI MARWAT (Dunya News) - Police successfully foiled a terrorist attack on a police check post in Lakki Marwat after responding swiftly to an armed assault late at night, officials said.
According to police, around 15 heavily armed militants attacked the Takhti Khel police check post, located within the jurisdiction of Sarai Naurang police station, under the cover of darkness. Police personnel posted at the check post immediately returned fire, forcing the attackers to flee.
District Police Officer (DPO) Lakki Marwat, Nazir Khan, said the police force was fully prepared to counter threats posed by extremist elements and that the prompt response demonstrated their operational readiness.
He emphasized that no compromise would be made on the protection of citizens’ lives and property, adding that police would continue to confront anti-peace elements with full force.

Following the incident, security in the area has been tightened, and a search operation is underway to track down the fleeing militants.
