Azma Bokhari urged citizens to act responsibly and refrain from visiting Murree until weather and traffic conditions return to normal.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has urged citizens planning to travel to Murree to postpone their trips in view of the prevailing situation in the hill station.

In a statement issued on Friday, she said that an exceptionally large number of tourists are already present in Murree and all hotels have been fully booked. She added that heavy snowfall is continuing, while the influx of vehicles into the city has exceeded its capacity, placing immense pressure on traffic movement and civic facilities.

Azma Bokhari stated that there is no further room for the entry of additional vehicles into Murree and clarified that hotels also have no remaining capacity to accommodate more tourists.

In this situation, she appealed to citizens to prioritize their own safety as well as the safety of others and avoid traveling to Murree at this time.

The provincial minister emphasized that the safety of tourists currently present in Murree is the top priority of the Punjab government, and all concerned departments have been placed on high alert. However, she stressed that avoiding unnecessary travel remains the most sensible course of action.

She urged citizens to act responsibly and refrain from visiting Murree until weather and traffic conditions return to normal.
