Five killed in suicide blast at wedding in Dera Ismail Khan

Five people were killed and several injured in a suicide blast during a wedding at a peace committee leader’s house in Dera Ismail Khan, police said.
DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Dunya News) - At least five people were killed and several others injured in a suicide bombing during a wedding ceremony at the residence of a peace committee leader in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said.
The blast occurred near Qureshi Mor at the home of Noor Alam Mehsud, a member of the local peace committee.
According to police, the suicide attacker detonated explosives while the wedding celebrations were underway. A heavy police contingent was immediately dispatched to the scene after the incident. Authorities said several peace committee members were present at the ceremony at the time of the explosion.
The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment, while officials warned that the death toll could rise. An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
