Punjab urges tourists to avoid Murree amid heavy snowfall

Updated on:

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari advised tourists to avoid Murree as heavy snowfall, overcrowding, and fully booked hotels raise safety concerns.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari urged citizens to avoid travelling to Murree due to heavy snowfall and overcrowding.

In a public advisory issued for travellers from the provincial capital, she said all hotels in Murree were fully booked and snowfall in the hill station had intensified.

The minister warned that Murree had already exceeded its vehicle capacity, leaving no room for additional traffic to enter the area. She appealed to tourists to postpone their travel plans, stressing that no further accommodation was available in hotels.

Azma Bukhari said ensuring the safety of tourists remained the government’s top priority, noting that a large number of visitors were already present in Murree. She reiterated her request for citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to the hill station until conditions improve.
