LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced that 994,036 jobs and employment opportunities have been created across the province since February 2024.
According to a post on her X account, 315,536 jobs were generated through government recruitment, institutional reforms, and expansion of public services, including Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics, schools, and the Saaf Punjab programme.
Another 203,000 jobs were provided through SME financing under the Asaan Karobar scheme, while 475,500 indirect and direct jobs were linked to housing, roads, and other development projects, including the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the Punjab government remains committed to poverty alleviation, inclusive economic development, and providing sustainable employment opportunities for the people of the province.
