Government seeks Army officers for ICT policing support

Government requisitions two Pakistan Army majors and sixteen SSG personnel on deputation to strengthen Islamabad Capital Territory Police amid security, crime control, and operational demands.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The government has requisitioned the services of trained, serving Pakistan Army personnel for the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

A formal request has been sent to relevant authorities seeking the deputation of two majors and sixteen Special Services Group (SSG) personnel.

According to a letter issued by the Office of the Inspector General of Police Islamabad, ICT Police is currently handling a wide range of responsibilities, including restoration of law and order, crime prevention, action against criminal elements, and security and route duties. Due to these expanded obligations, additional manpower has become essential.

The correspondence states that two Pakistan Army majors and sixteen trained SSG serving personnel should be deputed to Islamabad Police against existing vacant posts. Of the sixteen personnel, ten will be deployed at the National Police Academy (NPA) Islamabad main campus.
