PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Police claimed that two under custody alleged robbers were killed in the firing of their own accomplices when they were being escorted to an area for recovery, Dunya News reported here on Tuesday.
According to police, two suspected bandits were targeted by their own accomplices in Shaheedabad area.
Police said the assailants wanted to get them freed from police custody. Initial report suggested that the alleged robbers were history-sheeters and they had killed a citizen during a robbery on Jan 2. The victim was identified as Shahzaib.
Further investigation was underway. A manhunt was launched for the fleeing attackers. In the attack, the police party escaped unhurt.
