ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad Bar Association announced a strike for today (Friday) in support of former Justice Tariq Jahangiri who was removed from his office in a forged degree case.
According to the strike notice, "the Bar believes in the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary, and “we always stand against anything that is contrary to the Constitution and the law.
“The Islamabad Bar Association condemns the illegal and unconstitutional decision, and no case should be decided without fulfilling all legal requirements,” the notice said.
The notice added the Bar would go on strike against the unconstitutional decision, and lawyers would boycott court proceedings.
