ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The name and photograph of Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri have been removed from the official website of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The Islamabad High Court’s division bench has also issued a new cause list and roster. Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri’s name is not even included in the list of former judges on the court’s official website.

According to sources, a new seniority list of Islamabad High Court judges is also likely to be issued soon. Tariq Jahangiri had been included in special benches related to financial institutions just three days earlier.

It is worth noting that the Islamabad High Court, while announcing its verdict in the fake degree case against Justice Tariq Jahangiri, had declared him disqualified from serving as a judge. According to the court’s decision, Tariq Jahangiri did not possess a valid LL.B degree at the time of his appointment as a judge, rendering his appointment illegal.

The court stated that Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri was not eligible to hold the office of a judge. The Islamabad High Court directed the Ministry of Law to de-notify Justice Tariq Jahangiri as a judge.

During the hearing, the Registrar of Karachi University presented the complete original record related to the degree, while Justice Tariq Jahangiri did not appear before the court.

The Registrar of Karachi University informed the court that Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri had been caught cheating during an examination and was banned for three years for threatening the examiner. He further stated that the accused appeared in the LL.B examinations using a fake enrollment form and changed his name and parentage at different stages.

According to the registrar, the names Tariq Jahangiri son of Muhammad Akram in LL.B Part I and Tariq Mehmood son of Qazi Muhammad Akram in Part II were used, and the enrollment number was also fake.
