ISLAMABAD 9Dunya News) - A district and sessions court in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the audio leak case.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasrullah Minallah Baloch conducted the hearing on Friday. During the proceedings, the court expressed displeasure over Gandapur’s continued absence and ordered police to arrest and produce him before the court.

Co-accused in the case appeared before the judge, but Gandapur did not attend the hearing. As a result, framing of charges was postponed, and further proceedings were delayed.

The court adjourned the case until January 20, directing law enforcement agencies to ensure the execution of the arrest warrants. The judge remarked that despite repeated summons, the former chief minister failed to appear, leaving the court with no option but to proceed with coercive measures.

It is important to mention here that a case against Ali Amin Gandapur was registered at Golra Police Station in connection with an alleged leaked audio clip. The prosecution maintains that the recording violated legal provisions, while the defence has denied wrongdoing.

Authorities have now been tasked with locating and bringing Gandapur before the court on the next date of hearing.
