Islamabad Model Jail moves forward as Ali Akbar becomes first senior superintendent; authorities push rapid progress, aiming to house all Islamabad inmates locally under modern prison reforms.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A major development has taken place in the establishment of the Islamabad Model Jail, as Ali Akbar was appointed the first Senior Superintendent of the jail.

Ali Akbar held a special meeting with IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The IG Prisons and IG Islamabad directed that the Model Jail be made operational without delay.

According to officials, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has instructed rapid progress on the project, and the Model Jail will be run on modern lines.

The purpose of the Model Jail is to introduce reforms based on the principle: “A saint has a past and a sinner has a future.”

The Islamabad Police spokesperson stated that once the jail becomes operational, all prisoners from Islamabad will be housed there, eliminating the need to send suspects of Islamabad cases to other districts.
