Karachi Water Corporation received 1,543 complaints about uncovered manholes across the city in 38 days.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi Water Corporation (KWC) received a total of 1,543 complaints regarding uncovered manholes in the city between October 23 and December 1. Of these, the corporation took swift action on 1,449 complaints, installing covers on the affected drains.
The complaints were received from various towns, including Jinnah Town (65), Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town (110), New Karachi Town (149), and North Nazimabad (169). Other areas reporting uncovered manholes included Saddar Town (64), Lyari Town (37), Keamari (46), Liaquatabad Town (36), Landhi Town (49), Korangi Town (92), Malir (39), SITE Town (17), Model Town (40), Safora Town (94), Shah Faisal Town (56), Chanesar Town (47), Baldia Town (50), and Sohrab Goth (3).
According to sources, KWC has compiled a detailed report on the complaints and the corrective actions taken and has sent it to senior officials. Authorities have assured that regular inspections and prompt responses will continue to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
