Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in Rawalpindi, keeping their tri-nation series hopes alive.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Pakistan claimed a commanding 7-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the third T20 International of the KFC VGO Tel Mobile Tri-Nation Series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Sri Lanka batted first and posted 128 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs, with Janith Liyanage top-scoring with 41 runs.

Other contributions included Kusal Perera’s 25, Kamil Mishara’s 22, and Pathum Nissanka’s 17, while Wanindu Hasaranga added 11. Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis chipped in with 3 runs each. Pakistan’s bowling was led by Mohammad Nawaz, who claimed 3 crucial wickets for just 16 runs. Salman Mirza, Faheem Ashraf, and Abrar Ahmed picked up a wicket each, keeping the Sri Lankan batting in check throughout the innings.

Pakistan overcome Zimbabwe to secure winning start in T20 Tri-Nation Series

The win keeps Pakistan on track in the tri-series, ahead of their next game against Zimbabwe tomorrow. Sri Lanka will look to bounce back in their remaining fixtures, as the series heads toward the final on 29 November at Rawalpindi.
