Health experts have urged citizens to wear masks, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and increase the use of air purifiers at home to minimize exposure to toxic air.
Environmental specialists attribute the severe pollution to burning of crop residues, traffic congestion, and industrial emissions, which together are deteriorating air quality across the region. Authorities are being called upon to take immediate measures to mitigate pollution and protect public health.
The situation urges the urgent need for both short-term protective measures and long-term strategies to address industrial and vehicular emissions to ease air polliution.
