BAHAWALPUR (Dunya News) - The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) carried out a major crackdown against adulterated milk in Bahawalpur on Friday.

During this crackdown, PFA seized a vehicle and destroyed 5,000 litres of substandard milk on the spot.

According to the Director General of the Punjab Food Authority, the operation was conducted after prior surveillance. A special checkpoint was set up at Main Bahawalpur Chowk, where officials intercepted milk-carrying vehicles suspected of transporting substandard milk. During inspection, authorities confirmed large-scale adulteration and immediately disposed of the unsafe milk to prevent it from reaching consumers.

The DG PFA further stated that a case registration request has been submitted to the concerned police station against the owner of the milk processing unit along with eight suppliers involved in the illegal activity. The accused were allegedly transporting thousands of litres of adulterated milk from Arifwala to Hasilpur, intending to supply it to various small and large shops as well as tea stalls across the city.

He added that milk-carrying vehicles are checked on a daily basis to curb the supply of contaminated milk in the region. He assured that PFA is committed towards food safety and protect public health by preventing hazardous products from entering the market.
