KARACHI (Web Desk) - The latest episode of drama serial Pamaal has sparked widespread criticism on social media after a bold scene featuring Saba Qamar and Usman Mukhtar was aired without censorship.
Viewers accused both the actors and the channel of crossing cultural boundaries, with many calling the scene “unnecessary” and “uncomfortable to watch.”
Pamaal follows the story of Maleeka, a writer who faces numerous hardships before and after marriage.
Having grown up without a father, Maleeka views married life as a fairytale, but her dreams shatter after marrying Raza, who fails to meet her expectations.
The show also portrays Raza as a controlling husband who constantly doubts and restricts his wife.

In the latest episode, after a heated argument, Maleeka learns that Raza is hospitalised.
Overcome with emotion, she rushes to see him and hugs him tightly — a moment that many viewers deemed too intimate for prime-time television.
Social media users expressed outrage, with one commenting that “the director should be ashamed for allowing such closeness on screen.”
Others said Pakistani dramas were “now following Indian trends,” while some admitted feeling relieved that their parents weren’t watching with them.
Critics also questioned the channel’s claims of producing “family-friendly and unique content,” calling the scene “a disappointing departure from its standards.”
