Top judge orders tightened security at all Punjab courts after Islamabad blast

Chief Justice of Lahore High Court orders strict security across Punjab’s courts following the Islamabad suicide blast, as the Punjab Bar Council calls for protest.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Alia Neelum, has directed the Inspector General of Punjab Police to strengthen security at all courts across the province, including the Lahore High Court, following the suicide blast outside the Islamabad district courts.

Security in Lahore and other parts of Punjab has been placed on high alert after the incident in the federal capital. During a meeting with Chief Justice Neelum, the IG Punjab assured her that robust security measures have been implemented at all court premises.

According to the directives, additional police personnel are to be deployed at all entry and exit points of the Lahore High Court. The Chief Justice further instructed that strict checking of every individual entering subordinate courts across Punjab must be ensured, emphasising that any negligence would not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Bar Council has announced a protest in response to the Islamabad court bombing, calling on lawyers across the province to express solidarity with the victims of the attack.
