Pakistan reach Hong Kong Sixes semifinal after 5-wicket win over South Africa

Pakistan defeated South Africa by 5 wickets in the Hong Kong Sixes quarterfinal. Chasing 103, Pakistan reached 105/1 in 3.5 overs, with Abdul Samad hitting a blistering 50 off 10 balls.

HONG KONG (Dunya News) – Pakistan have qualified for semi-final after defeating South Africa by five wickets in the second quarterfinal of the Hong Kong Sixes tournament.

Winning the toss, Pakistan’s captain, Abbas Afridi, opted to bowl first. South Africa set a target of 103 runs, finishing their 6 overs at 102/3.

South Africa's top scorer was Jorick Van, who contributed 40 runs, while Bilki Simjman (26) and Ythan Jan (29*) remained not out at the end of the innings. Abdullah Biomi and captain, Jordan Morris, could only manage 1 run each.

Pakistan’s Muhammad Shehzad was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets.

In reply, Pakistan chased down the target with ease, reaching 105/1 in just 3.5 overs. Opening batter, Abdul Samad, was the star with a blistering 50 off 10 balls, including 6 sixes.

Wicketkeeper-batter Khawaja Nafees added a valuable 36 runs, while captain Abbas Afridi played a quick cameo, hitting 2 sixes off just 2 balls to finish the game.
