ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Due to differences over some points of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, an important meeting of the federal cabinet has been called for 10:00AM today (Saturday).

Prime Minister will chair the meeting via video link from Baku, while all cabinet members have been instructed to remain present in Islamabad. The MQM-P, PML-Q, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, and other coalition partners have assured the government of their support.

The draft of the 27th Constitutional Amendment is expected to be presented in the Senate today. The Ministry of Law has prepared the initial draft of the 27th Constitutional Amendment. According to sources, consensus has been reached on most points, while consultation among political parties continues on one or two remaining issues.

It is worth noting that following the PPP’s objection, the government has indicated that the NFC Award will not be altered in the 27th Amendment. After receiving the PPP’s green signal, the draft will be finalized, and the party’s suggestions will be incorporated into the final version.
