QUETTA (Dunya News) - The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 across the province for one month amid heightened security concerns.

According to the provincial Home Department, the order bans all public gatherings, sit-ins, and the display of weapons throughout Balochistan. Under the restrictions, assemblies of five or more people are prohibited, and strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating the order.

The Home Department stated that the measure was implemented to maintain law and order, adding that Section 144 will be lifted once the situation normalizes.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has also extended the enforcement of Section 144 across the province for seven more days, restricting public rallies, protests, and the use of loudspeakers except for calls to prayer and sermons.

A notification issued by the Punjab Home Department confirmed that the ban on all forms of demonstrations, sit-ins, and gatherings has been extended until November 8.

Additionally, the department’s spokesperson clarified that the public assembly of four or more people is completely prohibited under the order, and displaying firearms in public remains strictly banned across Punjab.
