Mohsin Naqvi briefs PM about his visits to Oman, Iran

The Prime Minister emphasized that close cooperation with neighboring countries is essential for peace, stability, and economic growth in the region.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday and briefed him on his recent visits to Oman and Iran, Dunya News reported.

The meeting focused on key matters related to the Ministry of Interior, the security situation, and regional connectivity. The Interior Minister provided a briefing on his discussions with Omani and Iranian officials, covering topics such as bilateral security cooperation, immigration issues, and progress on border management.

The Prime Minister emphasized that close cooperation with neighboring countries is essential for peace, stability, and economic growth in the region. He directed that, in light of the region’s security challenges, the joint strategy against drug and human trafficking and for border security be made more effective.

The meeting also reviewed the Ministry of Interior’s ongoing projects, the implementation of the National Action Plan, urban security measures, the performance of the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency), and NADRA’s digital reform initiatives.

Commending the efforts of the Interior Ministry, the Prime Minister stated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the government’s top priority, and assured that all necessary resources will be provided to the security institutions.
