India secured their spot in the ICC Women’s World Cup final with a stunning win over Australia in the second semi-final

MUMBAI (Dunya News) - India has qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup final after defeating Australia in a thrilling second semi-final match.

Chasing a huge target of 338 runs, the Indian women’s cricket team achieved victory in 48.3 overs with five wickets to spare.

Star batter Jemimah Rodrigues led the chase with a brilliant unbeaten 127-run innings.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed 89 runs, while Richa Ghosh scored 26. Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma added 24 runs each, and Shafali Verma made 10.

Women's World Cup: South Africa beat England by 125 runs to reach final

Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Australia posted 338 runs before being bowled out in the final over. Phoebe Litchfield top-scored with a superb 119, while Ellyse Perry (77) and Ashleigh Gardner (63) provided solid support.

With this victory, India have advanced to the final, where they will face South Africa on November 2.

A day earlier, South Africa made history by reaching their first-ever Women’s World Cup final, defeating England by 125 runs in the first semi-final.
