Pakistan witnesses lunar eclipse tonight, confirms Suparco

The lunar eclipse will continue until the late hours of the night

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has announced that a lunar eclipse will begin in Pakistan on the night of September 7 (tonight) at 8:30pm , reaching its peak at 11:57pm. 

According to Suparco, the eclipse will conclude at 1:55am , during which the moon will be completely covered by the earth’s shadow.

The lunar eclipse will continue until the late hours of the night.

Astronomy enthusiasts, students, and the general public will have the opportunity to enjoy this captivating celestial event.

The eclipse will be visible not only in Pakistan but also across parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe.

'Blood Moon' to rise during total lunar eclipse Sunday night

SPARCO confirmed that the lunar eclipse can be safely observed with the naked eye.

The agency will provide images and the latest updates on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, the Met Office added that the second and final partial solar eclipse of the year will occur on September 21-22, visible in southern Australia, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and Antarctica. However, it will not be visible in Pakistan.
