DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has cancelled his scheduled political rallies in Mardan and Dir due to the ongoing flood situation across parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking to media in Dera Ismail Khan, Fazl expressed serious concerns over what he described as a deepening governance crisis in the province. "Those who are expected to pull the region out of crises are themselves trapped in them," he remarked.
He said the purpose of holding public rallies was to inform the people about the current critical situation.
However, due to the floods, the planned rallies in Mardan and Dir have been called off.
He also announced that ‘Mufti Mehmood Conference’ will take place in Dera Ismail Khan on October 16.

The JUI-F chief assured that his party will not abandon the people during these testing times.
“We don’t seek confrontation, but the public deserves to know the truth,” he stated. “There is no sign of governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; lawlessness and corruption are at their peak,” Fazl added.
Holding the state responsible for the deteriorating security situation in Swat and Bajaur, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that ensuring peace is the state's responsibility. “People are being forced to migrate from Swat, Waziristan, and Bajaur. Although state institutions are making efforts, they are not sufficient.”
He warned that militants have grown so strong that they are now directly challenging the state’s institutions. Reaffirming his party’s commitment, he said: “JUI-F will continue playing its role in upholding Islam and resolving public issues.”
