NEW YORK (Dunya News) – A recent report by US publication Strategic Outlook has spotlighted Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal General Asim Munir, crediting his consistency and calm leadership style as a key factor that earned the admiration of US President Donald Trump.
According to the report, a turning point in US policy towards South Asia came when Trump acknowledged Pakistan's role in counterterrorism.
This shift, the publication states, was further accelerated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reaction to a Pakistan-India ceasefire, which reportedly irritated Trump and altered Washington’s strategic preferences in the region.
The report claims that Modi's attempts to assert dominance over Pakistan during heightened tensions backfired, particularly after the downing of Indian aircraft, which led to unfavorable consequences for New Delhi.

The situation reportedly prevented Modi from making a planned visit to Washington, while in contrast, Field Marshal Asim Munir was invited by Trump for a lunch.
In a strong diplomatic gesture, the US also designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) as a terrorist organization and warned India against interfering in Pakistan’s internal affairs.
The report further portrays Pakistan Army chief as a respected figure in both military and diplomatic circles, described as “calm under pressure” and capable of navigating complex geopolitical challenges with competence and poise.
Strategic Outlook also highlighted a question, "Will Modi challenge the most powerful man in the world?"
