LAHORE (Dunya News) – Timely actions taken by the provincial government have saved hundreds of lives in the worst floods in Punjab's history, Dunya News reported on Friday.
Dozens of villages and hundreds of livestock, agricultural land and livelihood of people in various flood-affected areas were saved owing to prompt action taken by the administration.
On the directives of the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, all relevant departments remained active. In Sahiwal and surrounding areas, drone were used to locate flood victims.
The use of drones has enabled the successful rescue of several individuals trapped in dangerously high floodwaters in Sahiwal.
In Sheikhupura, timely construction of embankments protected lives and property. Due to government measures, dozens of villages, hundreds of livestock, and agricultural lands were saved from flooding.
Relief and medical camps remained actively engaged in providing full assistance to the affected people.
