Recently released Indian track accused of copying Pakistani song

Viewers are quick to draw comparisons

(Web Desk) - Bollywood’s latest release Param Sundari is drawing criticism over its recently released song "Danger", which has sparked a new wave of controversy online.

Pakistani social media users claim the track bears striking similarities to "Laal Suit", the popular title song from drama Mannat Murad.

The song Danger, featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, is being accused of not only mimicking the melody of Laal Suit but also replicating its dance choreography. Viewers were quick to draw comparisons, pointing out that even the beat pattern and music composition seem nearly identical to the Pakistani original.

Outraged fans took to social media to voice their disapproval, with many accusing Bollywood of once again resorting to its long-standing “copy culture.” Critics argue that Indian filmmakers appear to be running out of original ideas, frequently borrowing elements from Pakistani entertainment without acknowledgment.

One user wrote, “Bollywood either copies our content or bans our artists,” while another sarcastically remarked that the tune was instantly recognizable as a “straight copy” of Laal Suit.

The original track from Mannat Murad was widely loved and became a fan-favorite during wedding scenes in the drama. The show starred Iqra Aziz and Talha Chahour in lead roles and gained popularity both for its storytelling and music.

Amid the song controversy, Param Sundari has also been facing backlash for its casting choices. Janhvi Kapoor plays the lead role of Sundari, a girl from Kerala. Since the trailer’s release, several viewers—especially from Kerala—have criticised the actress’s accent and portrayal, calling it an inaccurate representation of a Malayali character.

Janhvi later addressed the criticism, clarifying that her character is written as half-Tamilian, half-Malayali, which accounts for the hybrid accent and cultural blend depicted in the film.

Despite the clarification, debate continues online over authenticity and representation, with many questioning Bollywood’s approach to regional stories and originality in content.
