LASBELA (Dunya News) – At least nine people were killed and two others injured after a passenger coach and two pickup vehicles collided near Uthal in Balochistan’s Lasbela district on Friday.
According to rescue sources, a police constable was among the dead, while another was injured. The bodies and injured were shifted to Uthal Civil Hospital and Bela Civil Hospital.
The ill-fated coach was traveling from Quetta to Karachi, while the two pickups were headed from Karachi to Khuzdar. The deceased and injured policemen were in one of the pickups en route from Uthal to Bela. The accident occurred due to overspeeding.
Rescue officials said prompt action was taken at the scene, but the severity of the collision caused heavy casualties.
The deceased and injured were identified as Shakoor Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed, Abdul Ghafoor, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Hanif Umeed, Ali Muhammad, Saeed Muhammad, Younus Abdullah, Muhammad Anas Abdullah, and Muhammad Yaseen.
