KASUR (Dunya News) – River Sutlej is flowing in medium-level flood at the Ganda Singh Wala in Kasur District after increase in water level, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
According to the PDMA spokesperson, the water level is rising in the Sutlej River at Ganda Singh Wala in Punjab. Authorities and rescue agencies have been instructed to remain on alert. The water flow at Ganda Singh Wala is currently 95,000 cusecs.
Director General PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia informed that 17 relief camps have been established in flood-affected areas of Kasur. These camps are being equipped with medicines, anti-snake venom, clean drinking water, and food.
According to the DG PDMA, 298 vehicles have been deployed for the evacuation of citizens from vulnerable areas. To deal with the flood situation, 13 OBM boats, 16 life rings, 210 life jackets, and other rescue equipment have been stationed in the field.
The DG PDMA further stated that water flow of up to 80,000 cusecs in the Sutlej River is considered a low-level flood, up to 120,000 cusecs a medium-level flood, and up to 175,000 cusecs a high-level flood.
