PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Adviser on Information, Barrister Dr. Muyhammad Ali Saif, on Thursday stated that Afghanistan plays a key role in the establishment of peace and security in the region.
Saif made these remarks during a meeting with Afghan Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb, where both sides held detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, including the roles of both countries in promoting regional peace and stability.
During the meeting, the steps taken by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for maintaining peace were thoroughly discussed, along with detailed talks on strengthening trade and the economy.
Saif emphasised that under the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the provincial government is taking serious steps to eliminate terrorism, and that Afghanistan’s role is crucial in establishing lasting peace.
Afghan Ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb highlighted the need for enhanced trade facilities at the Torkham border.
He further stated that increasing trade and strengthening the economy would help promote peace and prosperity across the region. He stressed that the revival of economic and trade activities is essential for the well-being of the people. He also mentioned that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has pledged to build a cancer hospital for the Afghan people.
