LAHORE (Dunya News) – A ceremony was organised by the business community to honour the awards received on Pakistan Day and the " Marka-e-Haq" by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, Chairman Dunya Media Group Mian Aamir Mehmood, FPCCI President Atif Akram Sheikh, former Federal Minister Gohar Ejaz, and Patron-in-Chief of United Business Group S.M. On the occasion, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik congratulated Ishaq Dar and Mohsin Naqvi on receiving their honors, stating that Ishaq Dar has worked diligently to elevate Pakistan’s prestige on the diplomatic front.
He added that Pakistan has the lowest tariffs in the region, which is a result of successful diplomacy. He assured the business community that their issues would be addressed and a meeting with the Prime Minister would be arranged.
FPCCI President Atif Akram Sheikh, in his speech, said the business community holds the "Field Marshal" in high regard and that the Federation is working day and night to strengthen Pakistan’s economy.
He noted that the business community has paid 25% more taxes this year, credited Gohar Ejaz for his consistent guidance, and praised Ishaq Dar for playing a key role in lowering tariffs with the U.S. He also expressed gratitude to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and urged everyone to pledge to take Pakistan to new heights of progress.
The biggest loss of toxic politics is to the nation itself, says Ishaq Dar
Former Federal Minister Gohar Ejaz congratulated Ishaq Dar on receiving the Nishan-e-Imtiaz and appreciated his efforts in improving Pakistan’s economic situation.
He pointed out that electricity rates in Pakistan are higher compared to the region, questioning how industries can flourish under such high electricity and interest rates. He urged the government to work alongside the business community for the country's development.
On this occasion, United Business Group Patron-in-Chief S.M. Tanveer stated that while Independence Day is celebrated every year, this year’s celebration is even more joyful due to a "victory in battle." He emphasized that the value of freedom is best understood by Kashmiris and Palestinians.
He further said India launched a cowardly attack on Pakistan, but the Field Marshal gave a befitting response. The business community stands with the government and the armed forces.
S.M. Tanveer also addressed public concerns over unemployment and said, "We must fight the battle against inflation and poverty alongside the government. If we win this battle, no enemy will dare look our way, and God willing, we will win this fight together."
