DUBAI (Web Desk) – Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa was bathed in the colours of Pakistan’s national flag on Thursday night to mark the country’s 78th Independence Day.
The display transformed the world’s tallest building into a towering tribute visible across the city skyline, drawing thousands of onlookers from across the United Arab Emirates.
As the green and white lights appeared, the atmosphere erupted with chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” echoing across Downtown Dubai. The synchronised display was accompanied by the sound of Pakistan’s national songs, filling the air with a festive spirit and creating a scene of unity and pride for expatriates far from home.
Spectators – many dressed in green and white – gathered early to witness the spectacle. Families, children, and groups of friends arrived waving flags, wearing bangles, and donning clothes reflecting Pakistan’s national colours. An impressive fireworks display followed, illuminating the night sky above the iconic skyscraper.
The event became a focal point for the UAE’s Pakistani community, with thousands attending, joined by residents from other nationalities. Crowds turned the evening into a sea of green and white. Children wore outfits matching the flag’s colours, women adorned themselves with matching bangles, and men carried flags high above the crowd.
Many attendees described the moment as deeply emotional, especially for those living far from their homeland.
