Pakistan bowlers rise, batters lose ground in ICC T20I rankings

Spinner Sufiyan Muqeem and left-arm quick Shaheen Afridi also made gains

DUBAI (Web Desk) - Pakistan’s bowlers have moved up in the latest ICC T20I rankings, while their batters have suffered a slide.

Pace ace Haris Rauf climbed two spots to 24th with 575 points, followed by Abbas Afridi, who rose to 26th with 572 points.

Spinner Sufiyan Muqeem and left-arm quick Shaheen Afridi also made gains, advancing to 33rd and 34th with 542 and 541 points respectively.

Conversely, Mohammad Nawaz and Abrar Ahmed dropped to 58th and 61st, while Shadab Khan slipped to 73rd.

New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy retained the top bowling position, with England’s Adil Rashid and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein in second and third.

In batting, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan — absent from T20Is since 2024 — fell one place each to 18th and 20th. Hassan Nawaz slid to 32nd, Saim Ayub to 38th, Sahibzada Farhan to 64th, captain Salman Ali Agha to 77th, Fakhar Zaman to 79th, and Mohammad Haris to 88th.

India’s Abhishek Sharma stayed at the top, with Tilak Varma rising to second and England’s Phil Salt taking third after Australia’s Travis Head dropped to fourth.
