MQM organises Independence Day celebrations ceremony

Vows to unite country

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM-Pakistan) on Saturday night held Independence Day celebrations ceremony with a main flag-hoisting function in New Karachi Town.

The ceremony was organised under ‘Marka-e-Haq’ (Battle of Truth) to celebrate Independence Day and splendid victory over India.

MQM-Pakistan Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori attended the ceremony.

During the event, the national flag was hoisted, and a spectacular fireworks display took place. Chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui addressed the gathering and said, "Today, the true heirs of Karachi are representing you in the assemblies.

"It has now been proven—after 70 years, the occupiers have realised that only those who created the country can run it.

"We have turned Independence Day into Independence Month. Even in the Red Cross camps of Bangladesh, we celebrate March 23 and August 14.”

If we are here, there will be neither Sindhu Desh nor an independent Balochistan, the MQM leader said.
