This incident comes months after a severe military confrontation between Pakistan and India in May 2025. That conflict followed an April attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which New Delhi blamed on Islamabad.

In retaliation to Indian aggression, Pakistan’s armed forces launched “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.” The large-scale response targeted multiple Indian military installations.
