LAHORE (Web Desk) - Social media influencer Naila Raja has finally spoken regarding rumours of an alleged affair with Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim, firmly denying the speculations.
Recently, rumorus spread on social media claiming that the discord between Imad Wasim and his wife, Sania Ashfaq, was due to Imad’s alleged affair.
Some users shared a video of Imad Wasim walking with a woman in London, claiming she was Naila Raja. This sparked a wave of criticism against Imad, with users labelling him unfaithful and calling his alleged infidelity to his pregnant wife a 'shameful act'.
Wasim has not responded to these rumours. However, Naila Raja issued a detailed statement on her Instagram, saying the matter had gone too far, compelling her to speak out.
Naila clarified that the video and story in question were shared by her on her own Instagram and were not a secret.
She questioned how a simple story could be twisted into a reason for someone’s divorce. She added that in our society, honour is always tied to a woman, while no one considers that a woman has her own dignity and respect.
Criticizing societal behavior, Naila stated that we live in a society where people are quick to pass judgment on others’ lives without context, just to prove their own moral superiority. She highlighted that such attitudes give rise to issues like honor killings and violence.
In her statement, Naila further explained that the video in question was recorded outside an optician’s shop in London, and the person who filmed it focused on a single angle, ignoring others present at the scene.
As a public figure, Naila acknowledged accepting criticism to a certain extent but appealed not to be dragged into matters she has no connection with.
She also revealed that her brother had received provocative messages urging him to “control” his sister, to which she expressed strong resentment, stating that she is a woman who has built her life with honor, hard work, and dignity.
It is worth mentioning that it is not the first time Imad Wasim has faced allegations of an immoral relationship. Previously, his alleged connection with an Afghan girl also came under discussion, with their pictures going viral.
