Nawaz Sharif, Maryam reach Geneva on four-day trip

Punjab chief minister will undergo treatment for throat infection

GENEVA (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz have reached Geneva. 

The former three-time prime minister took flight from London while the Punjab chief minister left for Switzerland city on a special Pakistan Air Force plane from Lahore. 

CM Maryam is accompanied by Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and personal staff. She will stay for three to four days in Geneva along with her father before they return to London. 

Maryam Nawaz will undergo a checkup for throat infection she has been suffering from for some time. She is expected to undergo a surgery under the supervision of her doctors in Geneva. 

A day earlier, Nawaz Sharif also briefly interacted with media persons in London while heading to airport for Geneva flight. 

The PML-N president said he would talk about political issues after wrapping up his Geneva visit. However, he shrugged off a questions related to Donald Trump’s victory in US elections.
