ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Government’s legal adviser Barrister Aqeel Malik has said the constitutional amendment is possible without JUI-F, but the government does not want this.
Appearing on Dunya News programme ‘TONIGHT with Samar Abbas, Barrister Aqeel Malik said constitutional amendment should be made, adding discussion on the issue was going on with political parties.
Barrister Aqeel Malik said, “Constitutional amendment is possible without JUI-F, but we are not inclined to do this without taking the JUI-F onboard.
“It would be better, if PTI comes up with suggestions on constitutional package.
“But it is adamant that it would not support such move. They are opposing the constitutional amendment package,” he said.
There is no issue that the package should come before or after SCO conference. We want that constitutional courts should be set up. A notification for new CJP will also come, the adviser said.
