ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The twin cities continue to be under lockdown for the second day due to protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), with courts, schools, and the metro bus service closed.
All roads, and intersections in both cities remain completely sealed.
The administration has also blocked link roads and alleys leading from Murree Road.
Both public and private educational institutions are fully closed on Saturday, and the reduced traffic has led to low attendance in government offices.
Prisoners from Adiala Jail were not presented in court today, resulting in an empty courthouse area. All courts marked attendance but adjourned hearings without proceedings.
A heavy police presence was deployed at major intersections and other significant locations. Due to a severe shortage of public transport, ride-sharing services were charging exorbitant fares. The metro service remained suspended today as well.
Meanwhile, the Education Department has canceled all events related to World Teachers' Day due to road closures, which were intended to honor teachers for their services.
