Barrister Saif demands resignation of Mohsin Naqvi as PCB chairman

Pakistan failed to qualify for the next round in T20 World Cup

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s adviser Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif demanded immediate resignation of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi after team’s poor performance in T20 World Cup.

“Mohsin Naqvi, Sharif family and all the conspirators should undergo a major surgery,” Barrister Saif said.

The sports must be free from politics, he added.

The development came after PCB chairman said that the cricket team needs ‘major surgery’ after dismal performance in the T20 World Cup where Pakistan failed to qualify for the next round.

Pakistan lost matches against the arch-rival India and the United States and got eliminated from the tournament.

“The defeat against India was disappointing in every sense,” said Naqvi, who also holds the all-important portfolio for Interior Ministry, during media interaction with journalists at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Naqvi emphasised that this poor performance clearly indicated the necessity for a "major surgery".

Stating what was obvious to almost every cricket-lover prior to the tournament, the PCB chief remarked, “I’m now certain that a major surgery is required.”

Naqvi said the Pakistani nation would soon witness a major overhaul in the cricket team.
