PM praises navy for foiling attempt to smuggle narcotics

The PM appreciated officers, personnel deputed at PNS Yarmook

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday applauded Pakistan Navy for successful operation in thwarting an attempt to smuggle 380 kilograms of narcotics in North Arabia Sea.

In a statement, the prime minister appreciated the officers and personnel deputed at PNS Yarmook for foiling an attempt to smuggle 380 kilograms of narcotics.

“The efforts of the Pakistan Navy officials in safeguarding the Pakistan’s maritime boundaries and preventing illegal activities are commendable,” the prime minister added.

A few days ago Pakistan Navy foiled a major bid to smuggling drugs at the North Arabian Sea during regional maritime security patrol.

Successful operation by Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT resulting in seizure of huge quantity of narcotics valued in millions of dollars.

The operation is a testimony effective surveillance conducted by the naval forces.

Naval warships of Pakistan Navy regularly perform duties on Regional Maritime Security Patrol to prevent drug smuggling, piracy and human trafficking at sea.
