PM Kakar to chair federal cabinet meeting today

The cabinet will discuss a seven-point agenda during the meeting.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has summoned the federal cabinet meeting to be held today (Tuesday) in Islamabad to discuss economic and political situation in the country, Dunya News reported.

Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar will preside over the federal cabinet meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s office. The cabinet will discuss a seven-point agenda during the meeting

According to sources, the cabinet will review the summary of restructuring of FBR. Sources informed that two separate boards of tax system and inland revenue will be formed. The purpose of reorganization of FBR is to increase tax revenue and prevent tax evasion. The extension of the term of office of the president of SME Bank is also part of the agenda of the cabinet meeting.

The appointment of the members of the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority Board is part of the agenda of the meeting. The cabinet will also seek approval from the committee for the appointment of the VC of the Shaheed Zulfiqar Bhutto University.

The cabinet meeting will ratify the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) and Cabinet Committee on Legislation.
